Susan Badger Booth
NLA Campus Executive Director
Professor Susan Badger Booth became the Campus Executive Director of the Eastern Michigan University Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in the Summer of 2015. She is also an EMU professor, the director of the Arts Management/Arts Administration program, and the faculty advisor to EMU’s arts-based student organization: AMP! Amplifying the Arts.
In her current role as NLA Campus Executive Director, Professor Booth works with undergraduate and graduate students as well as nonprofit professionals to advise them on opportunities in the nonprofit field and how to receive the Certified Nonprofit Professional credential. She also teaches related nonprofit and arts-based courses and conducts research on cultural organizations.
Before she joined Eastern Michigan University in 2006, Professor Booth taught for nine years at Bowling Green State University, in Ohio. She also has more than a decade of experience working in and managing arts-based nonprofits across the country.
Lora Stevens joined the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in September 2015 as a Graduate Assistant, pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Nonprofit Management. Before coming to Eastern Michigan University, Lora worked at TrueNorth Community Services in Fremont, Michigan.
At TrueNorth, Lora worked as the Volunteer Coordinator and Community Liaison before becoming the Volunteer Resource Center Director. In these roles, she worked to match community members with the local volunteer opportunities, planned networking events and conferences in the volunteer management field, served as the organization’s donor database manager, and administered its 900 person volunteer program.
Before joining TrueNorth, Lora received her Bachelor of Science in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University in 2010 and volunteered for numerous nonprofit organizations.
The NLA Advisory Board supports the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at EMU in preparing students and working professionals for careers in the nonprofit sector. Our 2016-2017 Board members are:
