NLA Student Association

The NLA Student Association (NLASA) provides EMU Mentor2Youth Volunteeringundergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to make a successful career out of giving back to the community. NLASA members volunteer together, raise money to support trips to the AMI conference, promote the NLA, and network with local nonprofit professionals.

At most of our meetings, we host a local nonprofit professional who shares information about their personal nonprofit career path, the mission of the organization they work for, their daily job responsibilities, and how students can get involved with their organization. We have hosted speakers from Mentor2Youth, 826 Michigan, Food Gatherers, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels, and many more.

As an NLA student, you can choose to become a Certified Nonprofit Professional, but it is not a requirement to do so. All students are welcome to attend NLASA meetings. E-Board position descriptions can be found here. During the 2017-18 academic year, our student organization will meet monthly on Tuesday evenings from 8:30-9:30pm in the Student Center or King Hall Lounge. More information about the NLASA can be found on EagleSync.
