Applying to BSN

Application to the pre-licensure BSN program option requires two steps. First the applicant must be accepted by Eastern Michigan University. Then a completed application must be submitted directly to the School of Nursing by May 15th. Please read carefully the requirements below.

Application Requirements

  • Application and acceptance to Eastern Michigan University by May 15 of each year. Consult with the EMU Office of Admissions regarding application forms, procedures, requirements, and deadlines. Admission to the university takes an average of 2-3 weeks.
  • Application to the School of Nursing by May 15. Application forms can be obtained from the CHHS Advising Center, School of Nursing, or can be downloaded from this site (School of Nursing Application Forms). This application form must be submitted directly to the School of Nursing along with other documents as required.
  • Completion of all pre-requisite courses with a grade of "C" or better and a 3.0 GPA cumulative in the 8 pre-requisite courses. Contact the CHHS Advising Center if you have any questions about pre-requisites.
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in the pre-requisite courses. Overall GPA is not considered for admission; only pre-requisite course GPA.

TOEFL score if English is a second language:

a. Internet Based Version = 89 (or equivalent score from alternative version)

b. Reading = 22 or >

c. Spelling = 24 or >

d. Listening = 23 or >

e. Writing = 20 or >
