School Information

Welcome to the School of Nursing web site. As an integral unit of Eastern Michigan University since establishment of the School in 1973, the School of Nursing prepares professional nurses to meet society’s needs and, more specifically, the needs of the state and region. The BSN completion option for registered nurses began in 1978. The graduate program to prepare nurses for advanced practice adult health nursing began in 1993. Both the BSN and MSN programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing.

A career in nursing has always been both satisfying and rewarding, and now the nation needs more nurses. Unfortunately, schools of nursing do not have capacity to accommodate all qualified applicants. The School of Nursing has initiated efforts to increase the number of graduates and the number of qualified faculty. Watch the web site for announcements.

Thank you for your interest in the School of Nursing and the nursing profession.
