Accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program was approved by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing in 1973 and has had continuous external professional accreditation since 1978. The programs, both BSN and MSN, are currently fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) until 2022.

This past Spring, the EMU School of Nursing underwent a rigorous reaccreditation process conducted by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).  The evaluation included an extensive self-study with feedback from students, faculty/staff/administrators, graduates and community partners.  A comprehensive site visit was also conducted by four site visitors over three days.  In October, 2012, the CCNE Board of Commissioners renewed accreditation to EMU SON’s baccalaureate and master’s degree programs for another 10 years, extending to December 31, 2022.
