With a focus on continuous improvement in teaching and learning strategies, faculty members engage in research and scholarly projects related to nursing education. The School of Nursing is committed to providing meaningful engagement with the community through community service. Faculty members participate in a variety of community projects and service to local, regional, and global communities.
The School of Nursing philosophy is rooted in an eclectic approach that embraces the four concepts of nursing’s metaparadigm: persons, environment, health, and nursing, as well as beliefs about teaching and learning. Persons are dynamic, whole, and human. Environment is an open system. Health is a dynamic phenomenon experienced by persons in different dimensions and degrees throughout the life span. Nursing is an art and a science. Teaching/learning is an ongoing process that results in goal attainment for each person. Learning is a life-long process for professional nurses.
