ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR: ESTHER GUNEL
esther.gunel@emich.edu

Ms. Gunel, who is originally from Hong Kong, has been with OIS since February of '93-'95 as a Graduate Assistant, and since February 2002 as the Assistant Director. She earned her Bachelors in Marketing as well as her Masters in Communications from Eastern Michigan University. She also worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) between 1995-2000.

Sue became the International Student Specialist in September 2005, after working part-time in OIS for several months. She has earned a BIA from General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering University) a MS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and is currently working on a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership -- Higher Education/Student Affairs at EMU. Over the last 20 years Sue has worked for General Motors and IBM, owned a travel agency, adopted 3 daughters from Russia, lived in the UK for 2.5 years and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and SE Asia.

Ms. Blan joined EMU in 2002 as a secretary in Foreign Language Department.She worked in the College of education Office of Academic Services before joining OIS in november of 2005. Ms. Blan has also worked for Washtenaw County Enviromental Health Department as a Secretary/Customer Service Representative.

DIRECTOR, Retired : PAUL DEAN WEBB

Paul Dean Webb Mr. Webb has been with OIS since February 1983. Before joining EMU he was the Assistant Director of the International Students Office at the University of Illinois in Chicago from 1973. He earned his BA in Geochem from the University of Rochester, and a Masters from North Park University in Chicago. In 1965 he earned a certificate in the Chinese language in Taiwan, and taught English as a Second Language.
