El Club de EspañolPurpose: Spanish Club helps students understand the cultural and linguistic aspects of various Spanish-speaking countries. We celebrate Hispanic holidays, go to Latin dance clubs/parties, have movie and dinner nights, and gather for "tertulias" (social lunch hour). One of the most important aspects of our club in the emphasis on volunteer work which seeks to help the Spanish community.

Special Events/Activities:
Dances, Spanish Holidays (currently we are getting ready for Día de los Muertos), dinners, movies, fundraisers, and "tertulias".  We are always open to new ideas as well.

We are trying to make the club strong again. A while ago, it had been dropped due to lack of leadership as well as a declined interest. We would LOVE for more people to join. The current meeting date is every Friday at 4pm in front of the Starbucks in the Student Center.

The JSA holds monthly events such as Halloween Parties, Barbecues and Movies to provide opportunities for Japanese and American students to interact socially. Coffee Hour is the JSA's weekly event that gives the students a place to study Japanese or for Americans to assist Japanese students with their homework. The JSA is a way to experience new cultures for many students and is also a great supplement to EMU's Japanese courses.

Special Events/Activities: Every Year Event - Welcome Party (September), and Dinner Show (usually around Jan-Mar) We are also doing monthly events, such as Halloween Party, movie night etc.

We always meet every Wednesday at the Student Center (Rm 320) for Coffee Hour. The students who are interested learning Japanese or who takes Japanese classes will come and get some help with their homework. We have exchange students from Japan every year, so it will be great time to learn and make friends during coffee hour.
