The Global Ambassador program at EMU is designed to help you in your transition to life at EMU. You will be assigned a Global Ambassador, either an American student or another international student who has studied at EMU for at least one semester. The Global Ambassador will be in contact with you via e-mail before you arrive to EMU with the goal of making you feel welcome to our campus and answering questions about life at EMU and in Michigan. You may ask your ambassador any questions that will help your transition to EMU be more smooth and comfortable. Examples might be (but are certainly NOT limited to): What is the weather like in Michigan?, What is EMU like?, What are some fun things to do/ see in the area?, Are there any good restaurants in the area?, What is Ypsilanti like?, What is Michigan like?, Why did you choose to study at EMU?
Please direct questions about immigration, visas, orientation, health care, flight/travel, and other questions of this nature to the Office of International Students: ois@emich.edu or 734-487-3116.
We look forward to your arrival on campus and having you as a student at EMU!
