8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. University Health Services (UHS) Open House and Vaccination Clinic (Snow Health Center)
This is an opportunity to meet some of the health center staff, including our Director, Chief of Medical Staff, Pharmacy supervisor and others. You will be able to receive vaccines, drop off medical records, transfer prescriptions, purchase the student insurance policy or talk with us about how we can help meet your medical and pharmaceutical needs.
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Move In (Residence Halls)
Welcome to your new home! At check-in you will receive your student packet for the First Four weekend, including your new EMU backpack, student planner, and wristband to be worn at all meals throughout the weekend.
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Hospitality Center (Eastern Eateries)
Offering opportunities for families and students to learn more about the EMU campus and Ypsilanti community, as well as finish last-minute business. Participating offices typically include Information Technology Help Desk, Financial Aid, Eagle Card Office, Student Business Services, Academic Advising, and more. Light refreshments will be available.
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Commuter Student Check-In (Student Center - all entrances)
Officially check-in for the First Four program and pick up your new student materials, including a new EMU backpack, student planner, and wristband to be worn at all meals throughout the weekend. After checking in, join us for the Family Picnic in University Park!
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Commuter Student & Family Session (Student Center Ballroom)
There's more to your student experience at EMU than driving to and from campus! Join University representatives as we share information and resources critical to your success as a commuter student. Learn tips on balancing your campus and home life, and how to be an active and engaged student in the EMU community.
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Orientation Family Picnic (Bowen Field House)
Relax and enjoy lunch with other new members of the EMU family. A variety of delicious sandwiches, sides, and drinks will be available inside Bowen Field House for you to enjoy in University Park.
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Buses to Convocation Center available for students (families should plan to drive separately) (Student Center Circle Drive)
Please plan on wearing comfortable shoes to the Convocation Ceremony because you will be walking back to campus with your Small Group!
2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Convocation Ceremony (Convocation Center)
Your official induction into the EMU family! The Convocation Ceremony is a time-honored tradition at EMU filled with history, pride, and EMU school spirit. You and your new classmates will be welcomed by EMU Interim President and Provost Dr. Kim Schatzel, as well as the Student Body President and other members of the EMU community.
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. New Student Class Photo
Join your classmates on the field at Rynearson Stadium for a new student class photo!
3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Presidents Reception for Families (Convocation Center) - Families depart following this event
Following the Convocation Ceremony, parents and family members are invited to join Interim President and Provost Dr. Kim Schatzel and other faculty and staff for meet and greet reception. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.
4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Small Group Time (Football Practice Field)
Meet your New Student Orientation Assistants (NSOAs) and the other new students who make up your First Four small group. Each group is comprised of both residential and commuter students.
5:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Dinner (Bowen Field House) or Eastern Expectations (Student Center Ballroom) (Groups 1-50/Groups 51-100)
What does it mean to be a part of the EMU community? You might already know EMU has expectations of you; however, do you have expectations of EMU? Join us for a conversation about each others' expectations as members of the EMU community.
7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Ice Cream Social & Text Wars Trivia Night (Student Center)
Join us for a fun-filled evening at the Student Center! Participate in Text Wars Trivia where you can compete for cash prizes and test your knowledge of "college life!" Or spend time getting to know other new students at our Ice Cream Social. The Student Center's E-Zone Gaming Center wil also be open!
9:30 p.m. Residence Hall Floor Meetings/Commuters head home
