Transfer In A Day Student Orientation

Transfer In A Day is a program designed to introduce incoming new transfer students to life at EMU and take care of the business of starting your EMU career, including registering for fall classes, meeting fellow transfer students, learning about campus resources and all the tools we offer to ensure your engagement and academic success.

Orientation begins in the spring with a half-day Transfer In A Day session and continues in August with First Four, your four day welcome week/campus acclimation process, which begins Saturday August 30, 2014 and concludes with the start of classes on Wednesday September 3, 2014.

If you have been admitted to EMU as a new transfer student, you will receive registration information by mail. Registering for Transfer In A Day is the official way to notify us that you've decided to attend Eastern! Note: if you live outside of the mid-west United States and are unable to attend Transfer In A Day in person, please complete the online registration form and you will receive alternative instructions for academic advising and fall course registration.

Before attending Transfer In A Day, please make sure your most recent transcripts have been sent to EMU. If you have credits that you are hoping will transfer, having the most up-to-date transcripts will make this process easier.
What do I need to bring to Transfer In A Day?
  • If you have updated transcripts since the date of your admission, please bring copies of those transcripts.
  • Any financial aid award and scholarship paperwork that you have received from EMU. (Financial aid and scholarship staff will be at¬†Transfer In A Day to answer your questions.)
  • A state/government issued photo ID card (passport, driver's license, state ID).
  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, including good walking shoes.
Do I need to bring money?

No. For incoming transfer students, the cost for Transfer In A Day is included in the $150 New Student Fee assessed to your student account at the beginning of your first semester at EMU.
