David Coverly (1987)is a world-renowned cartoonist and the invited keynote speaker for the university’s 2010 Undergraduate Symposium. His cartoons have been reprinted in such publications as Esquire, Saturday Evening Post, The New York Times, and USA Today. His syndicated cartoon panel, "Speed Bump," was given the Best in Newspaper Panels award by the National Cartoonists Society in 1995 and 2003. Petr Rice (2008)is Assistant Sound Designer for the featue film "Urban Explorer" directed by Andy Fetscher. Petr designs how each room will sound. He's also Junior sound Designer and Composer for Sky Deutschland, Pay-TV in Germany.
Sarah Hipel (2008) is the National Director of Operations and Regulatory for Whole Women's Health in Austin, Texas. She also the Plan Manager for the sporting organization Women's Flat Track Roller Derby Association. Sarah says "Thank you philosophy degree, you helped me become one of fifteen people in top level management for an international organization of over 10,000 people and three continents. We are an athlete owned and operated organization that functions on strict democracy."

Jacob Kuhn (2008) presents "The Handsome Negro's Ass, Defined: Terms of Immiseration in Critical Theory and Anti-Black Racism," Critical Theory conference at Frankfurt-am-Main. He will also present "Maimonides' Matryoshka: Unpacking Love, Fear, and Humility in Book III of the Guide of the Perplexed," Society for Ancient Greek Philosophy with the Study of Islamic Philosophy and Science, Fordham University.
Sadira Clarke (2010) is accepted in the M.A. in Global Affairs at teh New School Milano-Management and Urban Policy. She works for Empower Design, developing small scale solutions to the energy related issues faced by Uganda. Empower Design teaches on energy to mechanics in Uganda so they can develop small scale generator systems that work for rural and off the grid hospitals, schools, and small businesses.
Don Walker (2005) is working at Farm Sanctuary, New York.
Brock Peters (2004) is serving in the U.S. Army and is currently the commander of the 169th Signal Company, 36th Signal Battalion, Taegu, South Korea.
Daniel Strand, an EMU graduate from the 1990s, completed his Ph.D. at Emory University. Dr. Strand taught English in South Korea and Chile after completing his Bachelors at EMU, and traveled extensively through Korea, Japan, Thailand and Chile before returning to philosophy.
Barry Hall (1998) is teaching full time in the English Department, Georgia Perimeter College. He owns OmniGlyph Writing and Editing Services. Barry has edited a book on children's literature, copy edited full-length books in anthropology and intellectual property, dissertations, and television scripts.
Ben Rosenburg (1999) earned his Post-Baccalaureate Teaching
Certification from EMU and his M.A. in Teaching from Marygrove
College. He is currently teaching high school social studies at
Highland Park Community High School. |
