Biography:
Dissertation: Immigration Justice: A Proposal for Developing Just Admissions Policies

Dr. Higgins’ teaching interests include contemporary social and political philosophy (especially that with a global scope and/or a feminist orientation) and ethics (theoretical and applied).

Dr. Higgins’ publications include “Immigration Justice: A Principle for Constructing Just Admissions Policies” (Social Philosophy Today, forthcoming), “Open Borders and the Right to Immigration” (Human Rights Review, 2008), “What is Poverty?” (Global Feminist Ethics: Feminist Ethics and Social Theory, 2007), and “Sexual Disorientation: Moral Implications of Gender Norms” (Feminists Contest Politics and Philosophy, 2005).
