The Esther Walker Barnard Philosophy Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding philosophy student.

The George Rhodes Scholarship is awarded every year to an outstanding philosophy student.

The Friends of History and Philosophy Scholarship is awarded every other year to a philosophy student of high distinction.

The program is in the process of endowing the Sophia Philosophy Scholarship and welcomes alumni contributions to this scholarship. Checks may be made to the Eastern Michigan University Foundation, with "Sophia Philosophy Endowed Scholarship-01538" noted on the check's subject line. Please mail to:

Contributions to the previously-endowed "George Rhodes Endowed Scholarship-01088" are also welcome. The Sophia Philosophy Endowed Scholarship and the George Rhodes Endowed Scholarship are housed in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Both scholarships intend to support philosophy students' completion of the undergraduate degree and award philosophy majors or minors with good academic standing.

The Gregory Stevens Memorial Scholarship is awarded through the Office of the Dean of Students to outstanding students in philosophy, as well as to students in history, communications and theatre arts, and political science.

Philosophy students are also eligible for a variety of University-wide scholarships. Information on these and other sources of financial support is available through the Office of Financial Aid.
