The University promotes the continuation of the
current TlAA Group Long Term Disability Insurance
Program or comparable long term disability coverage
for regular employees. The University pays the monthly
cost of maintaining such a program.
The University will make its contribution for each
month following the month in which the employee
has completed his or her probationary period, provided
such employee has been on the payroll for the previous
month for more than half of the month.
Except in the case of the first 90 days of a medical
leave of absence, long term disability insurance
coverage shall terminate on the date that an employee
terminates, goes on leave of absence (without pay),
or is laid off, or the long term disability policy
terminates.
Additional regulations on this subject may also
be found and may supersede this policy for employees
covered by collective bargaining agreements.
