Support Giving Tuesday tomorrow

November 28, 2016

Dear Colleagues,

Tomorrow, we celebrate the movement that honors philanthropy and service, Giving Tuesday. In our fourth year of participating in Giving Tuesday, I am confident that we are stronger together, as we join hands and dedicate this day to our outstanding community. Make your gift today and send a message to our students: we are with you and we believe in your success.

So much of what makes EMU special is due to the dedicated faculty and staff, who constantly demonstrate what it means to be a supportive, intellectually dynamic community. Through the best times and the most challenging times, we serve to support one another. We embody our core values of excellence, respect, inclusiveness, responsibility, and integrity in the classroom and all around the campus. We believe that everyone deserves opportunity through education. We remember what unites us – serving our students.

I write to you to express my gratitude and ask you to join me in celebration of Giving Tuesday. Please, support an area of the University that is most meaningful to you. Whether you give to bolster research, improve technology, fund student scholarships, or supplement student activities, your gift is meaningful.

89.1 WEMU, Eastern Michigan University’s public radio station, will celebrate Giving Tuesday with a station open house and live jazz jam session plus a one-day pledge drive. The live jam session will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the main floor of King Hall. Local jazz and blues musicians will be dropping by to help us celebrate Giving Tuesday. All are invited.

Collectively, we can make a difference on this Giving Tuesday. Visit the EMU Foundation to make your contribution.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Eastern students.

Gratefully,

President Jim Smith
