In October 2007, the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents commissioned a search for EMU's 22nd president. On April 18, 2008, four finalists were announced: Kenneth Burnley, Michael Flanagan, Susan Martin, and Donald Shelton. Detailed information on the finalists is here.
The regents established a 12-member committee to conduct the search, with the assistance of an executive search firm, Compass Group.
