| Biography:
|
|
Dr. Freedman-Doan is a Professor of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University. As a licensed clinical psychologist, she is interested in developmental psychopathology, identity development, and effective treatments for children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Freedman-Doan obtained her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Wayne State University and her B.S. degree from Kent State University. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Dr. Freedman-Doan was a teacher for emotionally disturbed adolescents at a long-term residential treatment facility for 6 years. She has also had extensive research experience working as a Project Manager of a large-scale, longitudinal study investigating the roles of family, peers, and school life in developing feelings of competence and self-worth in children. This is an ongoing study at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research, funded by the National Institute for Health and Human Development. She currently serves as an Adjunct Research Scientist on the project.
