Biochemistry I
CHEM 451, Biochemistry I is chemistry of biologically significant compounds such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and lipids. Enzymes are introduced, bioenergetics is discussed and the most central topics of metabolism outlined. This course is intended as a one semester survey of biochemistry for health science students and as the first semester of a two semester sequence for chemistry, biology, and toxicolgy students.
