Intangible benefits of appointment as a graduate assistant accompany those of being a full-time student; namely, close contact with faculty and other graduate students, valuable employment experience within an academis setting, and the opportunity to devote one's whole energies to academic work. Tangible Benefits are:

Parking Decal - If you comute to campus, your parking decal will allow you to park in open faculty/staff lots. You are also entitled to a gate pass which allows you to park in the gated lots.

Library Privileges - This allows you to check out publications from the University Library for an academic semester.

Bookstore Discount - As a graduate assistant, you are entitled to a discount on items purchased from the University Bookstore.

Priority Registration - Prior to each semester's initial registration period, a memo is sent to each G.A. advising them that is they phone in their touch tone registration on a given day, they will receive priority registration, i.e., their only competition for a class will be other graduate assistants.
