People from the chemistry departments at Eastern
Michigan University and University of Michigan spent the Saturday of National
Chemistry Week (Novenber 11-17) at the Hands-On Museum in Ann Arbor, MI.
A great time was had by all. It was an amazing experience as visitors,
young and old, were amazed and educated by the many demonstrations and
experience tables set up throughout the building.
- As usual, the slime table was an overwhelming
favorite. Visitors were able to make their own slime, and take it home
- The polymer and liquid nitrogen demonstrations
packed the house nearly every time
- The Kool Aid chromatography table showed everyone
that Kool Aid can be fun, even without drinking it
- The nylon table showed everyone how easy, and
fun, it can be to make polymers
- Visitors at the paper chromatography table learned
a lot about compounds and colors
