Program Overview
  1. To train students to plan, implement, and manage change processess, whether working within an organization (managerial or staff support) or as external consultants.
  2. To equip students to match organizational with human resource needs, and to implement systems related to structure, process, and human resources.
  3. To enable students to understand and apply human resource and organizational development techniques.
  4. To familiarize students with the interrelationships between the fields of human resource management and organizational development, and with ways to use each to improve the other.
  5. To contribute to the knowledge base of behavioral and organizational theory and practice.
  6. To provide the community with access to the expertise of faculty and students.

Accreditation

The College of Business is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business - AACSB International. Students seeking admission to the Masters of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Development program must have GMAT and GPA scores consistent with AACSB requirements. Eastern Michigan University is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.


Faculty

As a graduate student, you will study with many full-time faculty who are dedicated to teaching and who regularly participate in academic and professional activities. You will have hands-on learning opportunities with faculty who possess real-world experience and professional credentials. Our faculty publish in international, national, and regional refereed academic and professional journals; advise and consult professional, business, manufacturing and service organizations, and also provide training and consulting services to numerous area businesses. They bring current techniques and up-to-date practices in the field to you through instruction and active involvement in the life of the campus and community. As professors, they provide innovative leadership in curriculum development, team-building and communication.


Facilities

The Gary M. Owen College of Business Building, completed in 1990 is a 122,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. It includes classrooms, computer labs, seminar rooms, and departmental and faculty offices. The computer laboratory is equipped with PCs installed with the latest software and laser printers. All Faculty are accessible via e-mail and many have online components to their face-to-face courses.
