How to Become a SHRM Member
Membership applications are available through the Department
of Management office (room 466 Owen), at all chapter meetings,
and through the SHRM Student Program page on the national SHRM
website, or from the link below. Completed applications should
be turned in with the $35.00 application fee (payable to SHRM)
to the Department of Management office.
Eligibility Requirements:
You are enrolled in the equivalent of at least six (6) credit hours per term in a degree-seeking program.
Your coursework, take or planned, supports an interest in Human Resource Management.
Note: All applicants must submit proof of enrollment in the form of a course schedule or letter from the registrar to join as a student member.
The Society for Human Resource Management's student program
was created in 1965 to promote mutual beneficial interaction
between HRM students and practitioners. Membership offers students
the opportunity to supplement their classroom education with
real-world knowledge and hands-on experiences.
Since the first chapter was chartered in 1965, the student program
has continued to grow. the SHRM student membership program now
includes over 370 affiliated chapters with nearly 10,000 student
members.
