PEC Clients and Partners

The PEC works to build long term relationships and training partnerships with their client organizations. Training and development is much more effective when it meets and supports the specific goals and objectives of the organization and the departments and business units within the organization.

Daimler-Chrysler: The PEC partnered with Daimler Chrysler to develop and deliver a skill building series of programs for high potential professionals in their management trainee program. After conducting an assessment of needs with the leadership team, a series of workshops were developed based on a case study approach that provided training and practice on topic areas including: Statistics, Finance for Non-Finance Professionals (Cost Accounting) and Business Communication (written and presentation skills).  Participant teams presented findings to a case study to a panel of Chrysler executives at the end of the program.

Inforum Center for Leadership (ICL): The PEC is a partner with and works very closely with the ICL in the development and delivery of the Executive Leadership program for Women – a program based on the emotional intelligence competencies and leadership. The program is an intense, highly personalized and interactive six-month leadership development program with a proven track record of success.  The PEC also re-designed the Executive Leadership program based on Emotional Intelligence for leaders for Inforum and delivered the program in-house at Guardian Industries for their leadership team. Tecumseh Products: The Supply Chain leadership at Tecumseh products wanted a program to build the skills of their purchasing and other supply chain professionals to be able to more competitively cost and review bids from vendors across the globe. The training workshops developed were focused on Cost Accounting and Global Sourcing – both key areas of expertise required of today’s purchasing and supply chain management professionals.

University of Michigan:  The PEC provides a variety of training workshops and seminars to the Human resources department at UofM – classes delivered as part of their catalog of classes available to all employees. In addition, The PEC has delivered customized programs in areas such a Project Management and Communication Skills to specific departments to meet their unique development needs.

Client Testimonials

The PEC is very proud of the pasrtnerships we have with our client organizations. Working with them to identify their specific training needs and then developing programs to meet those unique needs is mutually beneficial. It provides relevant and immediately applicable programs for the organizations and allows the trainers to pull from their real life experience in designing the programs.

“Eastern Michigan University's Professional Education Center has a unique approach to designing and delivering training solutions geared toward the needs of an adult learner. Their facilitators have a real knack for actively engaging the learner in the process. I have witness many sessions where they are so in-tuned with classmembers that they know when to stand back and let the learning occur. Even if it means rearranging the day's schedule. Their team is well versed in adult learning theory and they present the material in such a way that it stimulates as many senses as possible. They engage people on an emotional and personal level. This translates into a change in behavior that employers will see in bottom line results in the workplace.”

-Liz Buscher, Vice President, Education Coordinator, Retirement Services, Comerica Wealth & Institutional Management

“Eastern Michigan University's Professional Education Center is a fantastic learning resource and working partner. Over the past year, I've had the pleasure of working with PEC to bring some important competency training to the staff related to written communications, business planning and project management skills. I found the consultants very interested and responsive to our business issues and challenges, while flexible in their approach in delivering practical knowledge and skills to take back to the workplace. I'm happy to report that our programs have been well received and the instructors really receptive to incorporate participant feedback in improving the delivery for future sessions. PEC also has a caliber of experts that I feel confident that I'm providing our University community with the best and most knowledge of experts in their respective fields. I greatly look forward to my upcoming work with other training and development needs our campus has.”

-Kristen Storey, Director, University of Michigan, HR Training and Development

“During negotiations related to an outsourcing project for one of our entities in the United Sates, our team in India made extensive use of the ‘should cost’ modeling to develop pricing targets. This was a direct result of the high quality and very relevant cost accounting training their leader had received in the Supply Chain Cost Accounting program from the PEC.”

-Dave Reeves, Vice President, Tecumseh Products
