Hello! Let me introduce you to the Professional Education Center at the
College of Business at EMU. We are the executive and professional education
center providing training, development, coaching and consulting programs
and services to companies and organizations. Big, mid-size and small
organizations in all industry sectors from automotive to health care
to non profit and more are taking advantage of our outstanding services.
We provide programs ranging from basic managerial skills required to
manage operations, to leadership skills essential for managing people
to team building skills required in today’s global and sometimes
virtual business environment to technical skills in very specific areas
such as supply chain management, human resources, etc.
We offer some very leading edge programs such as our Emotional Intelligence
and Leading programs that help leaders assess their skills and build
through practice – new skills and behaviors. New managers need
training on how to transition from being an individual contributor managing
themselves to managing and leading others – a program we offer
in addition to workshops in moving people through change and transition.
The PEC offers executive coaching and consulting for both individual
leaders and professionals as well as for teams and groups. Most leaders
today are having to make decisions at an increasingly faster pace for
immediate results all while managing the operations and providing leadership
to their people. Our PEC coaches use personal assessment tools to help
the leader identify their strengths and areas to improve and then coach
them to practice and develop new behaviors.
We work very closely with our client organizations to understand their
specific training needs and how training and development will support
their overall strategic objectives. We incorporate specific issues
and challenges, policies and practices of the of the industry into each program
to ensure it is relevant and immediately applicable on the job by the
employees. We customize our programs to ensure the learning is sustained
long after our training program is over.
