Interviewing Seminar Behavioral Based
Interviewing
Who Should Attend?
Employees at all levels who hire candidates or who are
responsible for performance management.
Program Objectives
As a result of taking this seminar, participants will
learn how to:
- Manage the interview process in a way to make the best use of time
and create a positive impression with applicants.
- Define candidate success in an observable and measurable way.
- Develop questions that are tightly connected to success and identify
what makes a right or wrong answer.
- Conduct the interview in a manner to maximize communication and an
accurate assessment.
- Formulate a decision that reduces typical rater errors.
- Develop and implement team/panel interviews
- Reduce vulnerability to discrimination complaints in the interview
process.
Program and Format
This seminar covers the Strategic
Interviewing Model detailed in "Strategic Interviewing: How to Hire Good People" by
Richaurd R. Camp, Mary Vielhaber and Jack Simonetti, Jossey Bass, 2001.
The seminar will use a lecture/discussion format and
participants will be actively involved in their learning through a variety
of small group exercises. Additionally, participants will:
- Review two video-taped interviews and form judgments
of the candidates.
- Create their best interview questions and receive
peer feedback.
- Obtain 400 best interview questions from previous
participants along with detailed feedback.
- Practice conducting an interview
- Receive candidate feedback
