Workshop: Creating a Balanced Scorecard

Program Format and Content

The balanced scorecard is a performance management system that identifies key drivers for organizational change, facilitates communication of goals and objectives, and develops an accountability system for organizational change. Business leaders in innovative organizations use balanced scorecards as a strategic management system that integrates critical processes to full the vision and strategy for high performance.   The objectives of this three-day (over 3 month period) workshop will enable participants to:

  • Translate their vision and strategy into actions for high performance;
  • Communicate organizational visions, objectives, and measures to different stakeholders;
  • Set goals to achieve high performance targets;
  • Develop specific feedback processes for implementing a balanced scorecard;
  • Identify innovative approaches to support continuous improvement;
  • Align organizational actions with organizational vision and strategy.

Participants will engage in hands on development of a balanced scorecard for their organization. Experiential activities, discussions, and readings will be used to facilitate the workshop to maximize the development of knowledge and skills. The three day workshop is structured over a three month period in order for participants to apply the ideas in their organizations to create a balanced scorecard that can be implemented.
