Independent Studies

Take note that during any semester, spring or summer you can undertake independent studies in African American Studies for one to three credits by using any of the following independent study course numbers: AAS 497 (1.0 Cr.), AAS 498 (2.0 Cr.), and AAS 499 (3.0 Cr.). It is incumbent upon you to initiate the process by approaching an AAS professor whose specialty embraces the research topic that you would like to explore. Options also exist for graduate-level independent studies in African American Studies: AAS 597 (01 Cr.), AAS 598 (02 Cr.), & AAS 599 (03 Cr.).
