Nancy has been a member of the Department of English Language and Literature for over ten years, beginning as an instructor in 1991. Now an associate professor, she teaches in the areas of science and rhetoric, and technical writing, offering such diverse courses as The Rhetoric of Science and Technology, and Research, Theory, and Practice in Writing.
Nancy's contributions to the Eastern Michigan University community are many and varied. She served on the College Advisory Council, College of Arts and Sciences from 1996-1998, has been a member of the Department's Writing Committee since 1991, and currently is Chair of the Department Personnel Committee.
She is equally active within the teaching and technical professions. She sits on both the executive board and ethics committee of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing, and also sits on the executive board of the Conference for Programs in Scientific and Technical Communication. As well, she is a reviewer for the Journal of Business and Technical Communication and is a member of the editorial advisory board for Computers and Composition: An International Journal for Teachers of Writing. |
