The Planning Awareness Club of Eastern (PLACE), representing EMU's Urban & Regional Planning Program, hosted the first"Links to the Future" Golf Outing in October 1998. Now, as then, the golf outing is a dual purpose affair. First, it is a fundraiser to provide scholarships to qualified EMU students pursuing a degree in urban and regional planning. Donors and sponsors have their names prominently displayed for years to come.
Second, it provides an opportunity to have fun, network and participate in this very worthy event. The "scramble" format (using a team's best ball for each shot) allows both beginning and advanced golfers to enjoy the day.
