Assignment 2:
Architectural Styles

Architectural Styles Mystery Hunt

(This assignment is now ready. Proceed at your own risk!)

Part 1:

We are now looking at historic architectural styles, and why it is important to recognize the various styles. Part 1 of this assignment is meant to help you learn to recognize some of the more common historic styles, and the various elements of those styles. Shown below are links to 20 photos or sketches of historic buildings. Look at these and determine the architectural style of each building based on the styles from the textbook.

The textbook has descriptions of all the styles you will need to know for this Mystery Hunt. However, if the information from the text is not sufficient for this purpose, there are various reference books on architectural styles available in bookstores or libraries. Not all of these references use the same names for the various styles, so try to use their information and then match up with one of the style names from the text.
