Urban and Regional Planning/ Geographic Information Systems

The Department of Geography and Geology at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2002. The appointee will contribute to our Urban and Regional Planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs. The department includes diverse programs, including a nationally accredited undergraduate Planning program and a new graduate program in GIS/Planning. Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. with either a Masters or Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning and significant experience in GIS; experience in related research and in seeking external funding; and a record of publications. Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in GIS and Urban and Regional Planning; advise undergraduate and/or graduate students; and, ability to teach introductory courses an asset.
