Received my undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University in December of 2000. Earning a Bachelor of Science in physical geography with minors in travel and tourism, and sociology.
I began graduate work at Eastern in January of 2001 and the graduate assistantship in the fall of 2001. As an Ypsilanti resident for six years I am an excellent campus and community resource.
My masters’ focus is in land use planning and geographic information systems; primarily specializing in urban environmental management and watershed GIS.
My long-term career goals include tourism and transportation planning, community hospitality and guest service coordinator, park and recreation management, green space preservation, water quality maintenance, and environmental site plan review.

Summary of Qualifications
  • 3.25 GPA in the Geography and Sociology programs as an undergraduate student.
  • 3.65 GPA currently in the masters program.
  • Through my preparation in school I have challenged myself with the curriculum that I have chosen to ensure proper training.
  • A mature and responsible worker, with good social skills and guest service qualities; well suited for a job that entails human interactions.
  • Knowledgeable of PC windows computer systems, and can use most common software applications including Microsoft Office, ArcGIS 3.x & 8.x, Auto CAD 2000, Pathfinder GPS, ArcObjects, 3D Analyst, and Internet journal research.
  • Member of Michigan Society of Planning since May 2001.
  • Involved with extra curricular participation in my social fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon as an undergraduate student where I have successfully held the offices of president, treasurer, and educator; receiving honors for leadership, academics, and organization.
  • Financially funded my undergraduate education alone by a series of food service jobs while studying.
  • Intern currently at the Washtenaw County drain commissioner’s office. Work for the tax assessment coordinator to utilize GIS with drain maintenance assessments. Other duties include use of GIS for watershed mapping and runoff analysis, collection of field GPS data to maintain accuracy of GIS data sets, and presentation mapping.

Also spending time with my family and two pets, Wilson the green iguana, and Cloe the cat
