The Department of Geography and Geology has a long tradition and an exciting future. We invite you to browse our site and find out more about us. Our department has five programs to service those interested in the Geo-based arts and sciences. Along with our Geography and Earth Science programs we have Master's programs in Urban and Regional Planning, Historic Preservation and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The GIS program now caters to both graduate and undergraduate alike, with an undergraduate minor in GIS.

Faculty are dedicated to giving their students the best that EMU can offer in technology and experience. Come to Eastern and see what we have to offer.

July 2009
The department welcomes our new Department Head, Dr. Richard Alan Sambrook. We look forward to working with him to advance the geographic and geological sciences and arts at EMU.

We also wish to thank Dr. Robert Jones for his service to the department for the past year as our Interim Department Head.
