Browser Tuneup
The browser tuneup helps you set up your Internet browser to work with WebCT. It involves two steps to getting your computer configured:
- Install the Sun Java software
- Run through the WebCT broswer tuneup

Install the Sun Java software (PC only)
In Windows, you will need to install the Sun Java software for WebCT to work correctly on your computer. The Java Web site is set up for you to easily install this software. Follow the instructions below to download a version of the Sun Java JRE that does not conflict with other campus-supported software.
| Sun Java Note: If you are already running a later version of the Sun Java software, you will need to uninstall it before you install this one. |
Instructions:
1. Click here to go to the JRE 1.5.0 download site.
2. Scroll down to the Required section of the page and click on Accept.
3. Click on Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language.
4. Save the software to your desktop.
5. Close your browser and double-click the Sun Java installation icon.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions and run a typical installation of the software.
| Sun Java Update Note: You may need to turn off automatic updates if you start getting messages on your computer that say, "Updates are available from Java Update." Click here for instructions on how to disable the automatic update feature of Java and stop these messages. |

Run through the WebCT Browser Tuneup
The browser tune-up contains a list of Intenet browsers validated to work with WebCT and includes step-by-step instructions to make sure your browser settings are
optimized. You only need to run through it once on your own computer, unless you change the settings or your browser configuration changes (for example, a new version or service pack may change the way your broswer is set up). This tuneup is set up and maintained by WebCT.com, http://www.webct.com/tuneup.
