The following three items need to be completed in order to begin using WebCT for a course at EMU:
Introduction or Orientation to WebCT Faculty interested in using WebCT for the first time should attend one of the "Introduction to WebCT" workshops or should arrange an for a WebCT orientation and initial consultation with one of the instructional technologists to determine course needs and develop a plan of action for creating a presence on WebCT. For more information, please see the Workshops section of this site or contact Academic Technology and Computing Services (ATCS) at 487-2679. Submit a WebCT Course Request A course request needs to be submitted in order for a course and associated template to be created in WebCT. Templates are created within 3 business days after receiving a course request, where you can begin to add content and build your course. Course sections are loaded approximately one week prior to the beginning of the semester so that your students may have access to materials you have released to them at that time. Deadlines for course requests and more detailed information is available in the "Request a Course" section of this website. Set the Course Schedule Type in Banner Courses running in WebCT need to be web-enabled in Banner, that is, the course schedule type needs to be set to one of the following:
