Emergency Management

The Eastern Michigan University Emergency Management Office is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and resilient campus community through mitigation, preparedness, training and educational outreach efforts. Using an all-hazards approach, EMU Emergency Management works to mitigate the effects of, plan for, respond to and quickly recover from emergencies.

Emergency Response and Evacuation Procedures

Eastern has developed emergency response procedures for many hazards that could potentially affect the Ypsilanti campus community. The emergency response procedure serves as a guide for specific emergency response actions students, faculty, staff and visitors can take should an incident occur. Keep in mind, each incident is unique so keep your response actions flexible and scalable to the incident. The procedures can be viewed at:
