Training programs provided by the Health and Safety Office include:

•Safety Awareness •Personal Protective Equipment
•Hazard Communication •Forklift Safety
•Laboratory Safety •Powered Grounds Keeping Equipment
•Bloodborne Pathogen •Lockout Tagout
•Formaldehyde •Emergency Response Planning

Every Eastern Michigan University employee, including student employees and Graduate Assistants must attend safety awareness and hazard communication training provided by the Health and Safety Office. This training is mandatory. The training provides employees with information on various safety programs and Eastern Michigan University and information on what to do in the event of an emergency.

If an employee of EMU has not had this training they should enroll in the next safety training session. You can contact the Health and Safety Office at (734)487-0794 or by email. The calendar of training is as follows:

Every Eastern Michigan University employee that works in a laboratory, including student employees and Graduate Assistants must attend the Lab Safety training. By attending this training you will meet the requirements of the safety awareness and hazard communication training which is mandatory. The training provides information regarding chemical safety, lab emergencies, fire safety, and best practices.
