Ian Withrow delved into the realm of fitness and health when he was involved in a major accident at age 14, which resulted in a broken arm that required surgery to shift his right arms bones back into place. Additionally, Ian suffered from being overweight and out of shape, weighing over 230 lbs. Ian began to implement mental strategies and training techniques that he now uses while coaching his clients. Throughout his high school years, he regularly trained his fellow classmates before and after school. As his desire to coach and support people in becoming healthier increased after high school, he became an ACE-certified trainer. Ian has worked with many individuals ranging from high school athletes to disabled individuals; he has a very broad range and is able to work with individuals from all walks of life to help them reach their goals.

Ian would like to fuse his passion for fitness and health into business, creating opportunities for more people to have access to health and wellness services. He strives for the achievement of his clients' goals by properly assessing muscular imbalances, using a holistic approach to human physiology for each client. Ian focuses on weight loss, strength training, sport-specific training, functional training, and endurance training. Having experimented with multiple forms of training, Ian knows what it takes for his clients to achieve their specific goals. As Ian explains, "The human body is a holistic system, and I educate my clients on the importance of having a balanced and coordinated program; yet I still make it fun and challenging. I do this by incorporating creative, outside-the-box workouts that not only empower my clients, but also guide them forward to their goals.”  Ian is excited to be part of the friendly and involved community of EMU's Rec/IM. He strives to bring positivity and friendliness to his clients, and to the Rec/IM.
