NEW BODY CHALLENGE
Better health, Better life.
Program will resume Fall semester 2009! You can reserve your spot NOW or at any time before then. Only the first 25 participants will be taken!
The New Body Challenge is a multi-department program that has been designed to help people create and maintain healthy, well-balanced lifestyles. This program will test participants on the five components of health, which include: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and body composition. Measurements of these five components of health will be taken both at the beginning and end of the program. Participants will be grouped into teams led by training mentors from the exercise physiology / physical education departments. These mentors will be responsible for monitoring the process of their team members with the aid of tests and record keeping as well as for keeping their team members motivated. Throughout the program, participants will be earning points for going to weekly nutrition classes held by the nutrition department. The nutrition department will also be offering healthy cooking classes to members. In addition to nutrition there will also be fitness classes and presentations demonstrating proper form during exercises. Participants will be allowed to attend Zia's Weight Loss Boot Camp two times per week as well as other fitness related events throughout the semester. The New Body Challenge program is designed to help individuals meet their fitness goals no matter what they may be by emphasizing the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The program will help participants understand how their body reacts to food and exercise, because in order for a person to be healthy and fit, they must first have the knowledge on how to achieve it. |
