Transcripts Information

View Your Academic Transcript on the Web

Current students and students with enrollment activity since fall 2004 can acquire unofficial transcripts online through your my.emich account using the following navigation:

  1. Go to http://my.emich.edu and login to your my.emich account. Click on the STUDENT tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down and click on the STUDENT SERVICES link.
  3. Click on the STUDENT RECORDS link.
  4. Click on the ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT link.
  5. Select "All Levels" for the Transcript Option, click Submit.
  6. Print a hard copy if desired.

Students who no longer have access to their my.emich account can still print unofficial transcripts via our Self-Service website using their EID and PIN. Click here to access your unofficial transcript using Self-Service, if applicable.

Transcript Request

You can request a transcript on-line, by mail, or in person. We are unable to accept transcript requests by telephone, fax or e-mail.

  • Transcripts cost $5.00 per copy.
  • Transcript requests are processed in the order in which they are received. Allow five business days, from when your request is received in the transcript department, for your request to be processed and for the transcripts to be mailed.
  • Transcripts requests that require an additional attachment(s) sent with the transcript must be submitted in person or by mail.
  • Transcripts can be sent express mail, once processing is complete, via the United States Postal Service (USPS) for an additional cost of $18.95 per address within the U.S. International express mail is now also available for an additional cost of $29.95 per international address.
  • Requests will not be honored for anyone with past due financial obligations to the University. Questions regarding financial obligations should be directed to the Student Accounting Office at 734.487.3335.
  • Orders that are on hold or awaiting a consent form will be cancelled if not cleared within 30 days.
  • “Issued to Student” will appear on all transcripts mailed to and/or picked up by the student and may not be considered official by another institution.
  • No transcripts are mailed on days that the university is closed - holidays and the time between Christmas and New Year's. Please plan accordingly.

Note: For students who select to pick-up their official transcripts, any transcripts not picked up within 30 business days will be destroyed and you will need to re-order and pay the transcript fee again.

*All transcript requests are considered complete and final after six months from original order date. No adjustments, re-issues, or refunds will be considered after this date*

On-line Request

Eastern Michigan University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide transcript ordering via the web. You can order transcripts using any major credit card. Your card will only be charged after your order has been completed.

If you require that an additional form be sent along with your transcript do not use this service, any forms sent will not be accepted. To have an additional form included, you must either order your transcript by mail or in person.

To order official transcripts online, you may access the Clearinghouse secure site directly or login to your my.emich account using the following navigation:

  1. Go to http://my.emich.edu and login to your my.emich account. Click on the STUDENT tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll down and click the STUDENT SERVICES link.
  3. Click on the NATIONAL STUDENT CLEARINGHOUSE SELF-SERVICE SITE link.
  4. Click on CONTINUE TO NSC. This will open a new window to the Clearinghouse secure site.

The site will walk you through placing your order, including delivery options and fees. You can order as many transcripts as you like in a single session using your major credit card.

Your signed consent will be required to fulfill your transcript order. For your convenience, a consent form will be generated for your order that you can return via fax, mail or as a scanned e-mail attachment.**Orders placed through your my.emich account will not need a signed consent form as long as your social security number is on file with EMU.**

All orders that are on hold or awaiting a consent form will be cancelled if not cleared within 30 days.

Order updates will be e-mailed to you. You can also check order status or history online.

No transcripts are mailed on days that the university is closed - holidays and the time between Christmas and New Year's. Online transcript requests that are submitted while we are closed for the holidays will be processed in the order they were received when our office reopens.

In-Person Request

To order an official transcript in person, complete a transcript request form at the Cashiers Office, 201 Pierce Hall, Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Requests made in-person can be paid by check or cash only. Please allow two to three business days for processing. A kiosk is available in the lobby to order transcripts on-line via the National Student Clearinghouse web site using any major credit card.

*Transcripts not picked up within 10 business days will be destroyed and you will need to re-order and pay the transcript fee again.

Mail Request

To order an Eastern Michigan University transcript by mail, send a written request, or print and complete the on-line transcript request form. Requests made by mail can be paid by check or money order only. Send your request to the address below. Include $5.00 for each transcript requested in the form of a check or money order. Payment must accompany all requests or said request will be returned. Eastern Michigan University Cashier's Office - Transcripts 201 Pierce Hall Ypsilanti, MI 48197.

Please include the following information in written requests:

  • full name under which you attended
  • approximate dates of attendance
  • Student ID Number or Social Security Number
  • complete address where transcripts are to be mailed
  • your return address
  • your signature releasing the transcripts
  • daytime telephone number

Unofficial Transcript Request

One (1) unofficial transcript will be provided ONLY to students who are unable to obtain a copy of their academic history via an online my.emich account.

Any other request for an unofficial transcript will be denied and referred to the official transcript ordering process. All requests for an unofficial transcript must be submitted in writing to our office and transcripts will be returned directly to the student, no third parties, in one to two business days.

Students will only receive one (1) unofficial copy for their records - any additional or future transcripts needed must be ordered via regular, official transcript procedures.

Unofficial transcripts can only be ordered by, and sent directly to, the student - we cannot send them to outside third parties (such as other schools or potential employers).

To request an unofficial transcript, please send a written request including your name, student number or social security number, statement of what you need (unofficial transcript), approximate dates of attendance, where you would like it sent, and a hand-written signature. The request may be mailed to 303 Pierce Hall, Ypsilanti, MI 48197, faxed to 734.487.6808, or emailed (as an attachment with signature) to registrar@emich.edu.
