Answers:

Where do I get a fund number?

Once your grant or contract has been awarded, Grants Accounting will issue a grant Fund number and notify you via email.

Will any roles or authority be needed in Banner and how are they acquired?

If any Student Positions will be needed on your grant (Student Employee or Grad Student positions), the PI will need to have Banner Access as well as the adequate Banner Security in order to approve EPAFs at the Project Director level. Please contact your Post-Award Manager for assistance to ensure these roles/authorities are in place.

How do I spend the money?

The ORDA Pre Award Officer will set up a meeting with you and the Post Award Manager will set up a time to meet with you to go over your budget items and get started. We call this the "Award Kick-Off" meeting.

How do I hire personnel on my grant?
Your post award manager can assist you in initiating the hiring paperwork for the personnel listed in your grant budget.

How do I purchase supplies and materials on my grant?

Purchases are made through P-Cards, requisitions, and reimbursements through Concur. Your post award manager can assist you in applying for a P-card, initiating Requisitions, and initiating expense reimbursements through Concur.

Do I have to use Concur?
All employees must use Concur for expense reimbursements, and any travel expenses. You can assign your Post Award Manager as a delegate. They can enter your receipts and complete the expense reports for all grant related expenses.

How can I find out the balance in my grant fund?
Your post Award manager can assist you in getting the current balance for your grant fund.

How do I request a no-cost extension?
Notify your post award manager and they will begin the process for the NCE. Please provide a justification for the NCE and the deliverables that still need to be completed.
