Hello EMU Residents!
We, the Residence Hall Association (RHA) would like to invite you and your siblings to participate in the 2014 “Lil’ Sib's Weekend”. Lil’ Sib's Weekend is a weekend-long series of events on Eastern's campus that allows students to re-unite with their younger siblings for an entire weekend and share their Residence Life experience here at Eastern. Please read over the following for a brief introduction to the program before you register.
WHO IS ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE PROGRAM?
Lil’ Siblings will be restricted in age to between the ages of 4-16 years. This is to ensure the safety, security and fun for all throughout the weekend.
WHAT IS THE THEME FOR LIL’ SIB'S WEEKEND 2014?
The theme for this year is “We can be Heroes”. We encourage all participants to feel free to dress accordingly for both the weather and the theme throughout the weekend.
WHEN IS LIL’ SIB'S WEEKEND?
“Lil’ Sib's Weekend” will be held March 7, at 4PM through March 9, at 3PM this year. Please plan accordingly to transport younger siblings to and from the campus within these times. The normal policy on EMU campus is that no person under 18 years of age is allowed in the residence halls, this policy will be in affect prior to and after Lil Sibs Weekend.
WHERE DOES MY STUDENT'S LIL’ SIB GO?
Sign-in and Pick-up will both be in Walton/Putnam Hall's Main Lounge on the Northeast side of campus. During the weekend, you, the resident will be held responsible for your Lil’ sibling acting as their chaperone at all time. You need attend all meals, programs, and entertainment throughout campus together.
HOW DO I REGISTER?
Registration is now closed
Once you have already purchased tickets, you must complete the registration form that was sent with your tickets. Upon your registration you will be offered the opportunity for your sibling to receive: An event itinerary, A Lil’ Sib's Weekend T-Shirt, and an admittance wristband. What your sibling receives at registration will be determined by how you choose to register. The maximum number of siblings a student may sponsor is 2.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
We have, in the past, offered meal tickets with the program. This year, we have decided not to offer meal tickets with the program.
We will, of course, still have food option available throughout the weekend at all of our dining facilities on campus which can be purchases with meal plans or cash. There are also many places off campus to eat if people so choose. We recommend that your siblings come with $5-$10 per meal (about 5 meals).
Programs to keep in mind:
There will be a night where children will have access to the REC/IM. We encourage siblings to bring bathing suits, towels, and gym clothes if they wish.
Siblings of residents will be held to the same set of policies as EMU residents. In the event a visiting sibling violates these policies they will be dealt with by the Housing and residence Life Office. Siblings may have their rights to stay in the residents halls revoked and asked to leave campus as a result of policy violations.
