HIST 179 Reacting to the World: This is a First Year Seminar and Living/Learning Community. Enrollment in this First Year Seminar is restricted to entering first year students. Students will study three critical historical periods and some of the classic texts that are crucial to these histories. Students will draw on their knowledge and understanding of these periods to play three "Reacting to the Past" historical role-playing games. In each game, students will represent historical figures and make historically informed arguments in order to influence other players and achieve predefined victory conditions.
