About

Allison Ranusch graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2011 with a B.S. in Applied Sociology and a minor in Criminology. Allison has been a Graduate Assistant for the S.A.C. department since the fall of 2011. She has a particular interest in sexuality, stigma, family, and the presentation of the self. She is currently constructing a master’s thesis on the experiences of gay women and their families living in rural areas. She is exploring the stigma management strategies of the family members within their various social institutions along with their community’s reactions. Her personal interests include running, biking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
