Coping with misconduct in the College Classroom
The Office of Student Judicial Services hosted a webinar entitled "Coping with Misconduct in the College Classroom" on October 24, 2007. You can watch a rebroadcast of the webcast and see reference materials by contacting our office. The webinar covered the following topics:
- Understanding and using the Student Code of Conduct to promote civility in the classroom.
- Overcoming emotional and attitudinal aversions to the appropriate use of discipline
- Recognizing when and when not to refer students for counseling services
- Documenting cases of student disruptiveness
- Dealing with students who are both disruptive and may also have a psychiatric disability
- Responding to potentially dangerous cases of disruptiveness
