Amanda Karel, graduate recipient, was
part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource
Center Speaker's Bureau for four years. She helped to start a
chapter of the national Gay, Lesbian, Straight Educators
Network on campus and she facilitated a campus discussion
group for lesbian and bisexual women. Ms. Karel lived and
worked in the First year Center as a graduate assistant and
an out and proud lesbian.
