Update, Sept. 5, 2006, 10:30 p.m.:
EMU discontinued negotiations tonight after the AAUP leadership rejected the University's last, best offer. (See press release.) Classes will be held beginning Wednesday, Sept. 6. Details about classes.

While it is true that faculty are staging a work stoppage, we expect minimal disruption to the campus community. EMU staff are committed to your comfort, service and safety throughout this time. We are confident that the negotiations will be resolved soon, and that faculty will go back to work. On Sunday, Sept. 3, EMU issued a letter to the faculty union letting them know they must put students first.
