Current Students

Co-op Opportunity: As part of the HRM program of study students must complete one or more co-op work experiences.

Students majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management must complete two 600 hour paid co-op work experiences. Students with a minor in HRM must complete one 600 co-op work experience. Students may find a position on their own or use the services of Eastern Michigan University Career Center. The Career Center is located in 200 McKinney Hall (734-487-0400). A job placement board is also located outside of 206 Roosevelt Hall where the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program is located.

Graduating Students

Students graduating in Hotel and Restaurant Management are seeking positions that utilize their prior work experience and academic degree. Students may find a position by using the services of Eastern Michigan University Career Center or by contacting Dr. Susan Gregory.

Employers Link

Employers agree to mentor the student and provide 600 hours of paid work experience. Students are placed in positions that build on their prior work experience and where they can gain new skills or enhance current skills. Direct supervisors are required to complete a student co-op evaluation. Students must also complete an evaluation of their work experience.
