Master's Program
About the Program
A 30-credit master's degree in hotel and restaurant management opens new professional doors and opportunities by building relevant skills that maximize career potential. A master's of science in hotel and restaurant management is available to students who have received a bachelor's degree and want to update their management skills, change careers or obtain teaching vocational certification. Students may complete the required 30 graduate credits enrolled as a part-time or full-time student based on their individual needs.
Convenience
The master's degree and graduate certificate programs are ideally suited for the working professional. All of the hotel and restaurant management graduate-level core courses are offered evenings, weekends and/or online.

The master's of science in hotel and restaurant management provides individuals who have a variety of professional, academic and advanced specialized abilities to further develop their analytical, management and communication skills necessary to be successful in hospitality management.

Admission requirements
Formal application is made through Eastern Michigan University Graduate Admissions. (graduate.admissions@emich.edu) Eligibility is based on a bachelor's degree with an overall undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher from an accredited institution and two letters of recommendation. International students must have the following: TOEFL (score of 213 or higher on computer based), MELAB (score of 77 or higher) or IELTS (score of 6.5 or higher).
